starting off right

New year, new Bible reading plan. I am following the Five Day Bible Reading schedule again, as I have for several years. Not every year. For 2024 I tried a plan that turned out to be too ambitious for my current life circumstances.

All that to say, I am back to my old friend, the Five Day Bible Reading plan. I will mainly use this daily reading to share with you as we seek to be planted, yield fruit, and be spiritually fruitful. Trusting the Lord to help us, step by step, through His Word and by His Spirit.

The reading for day #1 includes Psalm 19. What a treasure! David takes us on a spectacular journey of knowing and following the Lord. Much to say about this psalm. It is all intertwined and worthy of your consideration as a whole. But for now I share with you what stuck out to me the most.

Psalm 19 ends with a powerful punch. That is, at least, how I experienced it as I read this morning. Starting off this year, so desiring to honor and treasure the Lord with my days. Knowing He alone can accomplish anything good in and through me. This simple sentence is the prayer of my heart:

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. (Psalm 19:14)

Yes Lord, You are my Rock and My Redeemer. May my life please You.
